The College of Fisheries – Central Luzon State University (CF-CLSU) officially launched the Track A: Food Sustainability and Food Security in Freshwater Aquaculture with a lecture on sex redirection of tilapia for sustainable production by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco with 16 participants from various member institutions of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC) at the CLSU ICT Research and Development Training Center (CLIRDEC) Building today, 24th of July 2023.

For an intensified learning experience, the lecture was supported with hands-on/immersion activities at the CF Ichthyology Laboratory.

The 16 participants for Track A came from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University, Universitas Gadja Mada (UGM), Maejo University (MJU), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Tokyo University of Agriculture (Tokyo NODAI), National Taiwan University (NTU), Visayas State University (VSU) and the University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB).

CLSU in cooperation with Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and UC opened the third ISSP today at the Academic Affairs Amphitheater. This year, ISSP focuses on Food Sustainability and Food Security in Freshwater Aquaculture (Track A), Sustainable Mushroom Pharming (Track B) and Sustainable and Efficient Goat Production (Track C).
