The College of Fisheries-Central Luzon State University (CF-CLSU) with its alumni, retirees, faculty members, staff and students celebrated its 47th Founding Anniversary with the theme: Reconnect: A Day of Fun, Friendship, Unity, and Service at the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC) Complex on the 1st day of July 2023. Alongside FAC, the college has played a crucial role in the growth of the Philippine tilapia industry.

During the event, the alumni and retirees were welcomed by Dr. Lorenz J. Fajardo, the Acting Dean of CF. As the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and the former Acting Dean of CF, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco highlighted the quest of the college to its certification in the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). The college recognized the outstanding involvement and unconditional support of students, alumni and employers to the AUN-QA assessment. Dr. Velasco also presented the current cause of CF to put up a smart classroom through the assistance of the alumni and other stakeholders.

Testimonial messages from two of the college’s prominent alumni, Director Wilfredo M. Cruz of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Office 3 and Center Chief Ma. Jodecel C. Danting of BFAR – National Freshwater Technology Center, focused on how the fisheries industry has progressed and the role of CF in these innovations. One of the pillars of the college, Dr. Rafael D. Guererro III, proudly reminisced the first batch of fisheries graduates and the milestones of the college's journey in his video message. Dr. Catalino R. Dela Cruz and Dr. Tereso A. Abella, former deans and directors of CF-FAC, also graced the event.

Moreover, the celebration was actively participated by the Santeh Feeds Corporation, Ichthyological Society, and undergraduate student scholars of BFAR and Santeh. The new CF-CLSU Alumni Association officers were also elected. In his closing remarks, Mr. Daniel V. Cabrera, the National Sales Manager of Santeh Feeds Corporation and one of CF’s prominent alumni, urged a reinforced commitment to serve CF-CLSU.
