The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Fisheries Scholarship Program (BFAR-FSP) Coordinators from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4B, 5, 6, and CAR, together with representatives from Central Office in Quezon City visited the College of Fisheries-Central Luzon State University (CF-CLSU) for a short meeting last June 8, 2023.

On behalf of CF-CLSU, Acting Dean Dr. Lorenz J. Fajardo, welcomed the visitors and expressed her profound gratitude for considering CLSU as their partner in providing quality education to their scholars. This meeting was held for the following reasons: (1) establishment of effective monitoring system in the performance of scholars; (2) clarification and providing appropriate action on the concerns of scholars; and (3) encouragement of future scholars to study in CLSU.

In the end of the dialogue, it is a shared commitment on parties involved to foster a supportive academic environment for the BFAR scholars to ensure their future success. The FSP Coordinators were given an ample time to separately meet their respective scholars to tackle what transpired during the meeting. This was also their ideal time to monitor the performance of their scholars in the previous semester.

The fruitful gathering was also highlighted by the election of Ms. Jean Hazel B. Ganigan, 3rd year student, as the President of the BFAR Scholars Association. Present also during the meeting was the Acting Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, who gave an inspirational message to the student-scholars.
