As part of the 2024 Alumni Homecoming of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and as a testament to quality and excellence, the College of Fisheries (CF) hosted the Testimonial Lecture: Professor of the Day on February 2, 2024, at the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC) Conference Hall. The event served as a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements and journey of Dr. Ma. Jodecel C. Danting, one of its prominent alumni and the Center Chief of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – National Freshwater Technology Center.

Dr. Danting not only inspired the attendees with her research and public service journey but also shared valuable life lessons she has learned. To mention a few, she emphasized the importance of paying it forward, remembering those who have helped in your journey, and uplifting others. Moreover, it is important to appreciate your mentors and not forget to look back. She further shared her thoughts on mistakes, advising to take note and not repeat. Additionally, as a leader, you must lead by example.

The inspiring and insightful event was attended by the faculty and staff of CF/FAC, led by Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Dean, and Dr. Karl Marx A. Quiazon, Director, along with undergraduate and graduate students. It was facilitated by fourth-year students enrolled in the course FISH 4398 (Seminar), under the guidance of the Alumni Relations Office Coordinators, Dr. Lorenz J. Fajardo, and Asst. Prof. Junard A. Catabay.
