As part of the course FISH 4398, the fourth year Bachelor of Science in Fisheries students launched the first episode of the seminar series, โ€œBeyond the Water: FishComm101โ€, on March 20, 2024, at the College of Fisheries-Freshwater Aquaculture Center (CF-FAC) Conference Hall.

Mr. Roberto Miguel V. Sayco, the Chief of Strategic Communication Office of Central Luzon State University (CLSU), and a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries Alumnus, as the guest speaker, presented a lecture on strategic communication including its role and importance in an organization.

Furthermore, Mr. Sayco outlined his journey and experiences, how embracing opportunities accelerated his growth in Fisheries industry and how these opportunities led him to his current work designation. He highlighted the importance of having the right perspective in order to understand situations from other positions to which he applied throughout his career journey. He ended his lecture with a quote โ€œSwim where you are stockedโ€.

The BSF 4-1 students enrolled in the subject FISH 4398 (Seminar), supervised by Dr. Lorenz J. Fajardo, led the event. The program was attended by 102 student participants, joined by the CF-FAC faculty members and staff. The program was hosted by Ms. Jaymie G. Arevalo and Ms. Imelda Rose D. Pimentel, both BSF4-1 students and Santeh Feeds Corp. Scholars.
